1

How many years have you been teaching?

3

2

What does it mean to be a Black male teacher?

I think it is important for scholars to see someone who looks like them and can relate to them.

I hope that I am planting seeds of creativity in them—while allowing them to be their authentic selves.

3

What grade did you have your first Black male teacher? What's one big takeaway you gained from that experience?

I've never had a Black Male teacher. It was not until college that I had a Black woman as a teacher and it was a public speaking course. I think that class gave me confidence to pursue my artistic career.
